Make Money Blogging

Welcome to my blog. Like so many other blogs and websites this is about making money with blogs and websites....in particular this is about my experiences making money on the internet. At the time of this writing, I am the author of something in the area of 40 blogs, which keeps me pretty busy. Along the way I have learned quite a bit about what works and what doesn't. I hope my experiences help you.

My Blog Earnings for 2007

I doubt that I am ready to make the list of bloggers making money from their blogs like those on the list posted at Paula Neal Mooney but I am getting there.

I just tallied up the money I made blogging last year, that is, from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007 and although I can't quit my day job yet, I am getting a few cheques to cash now and then. Along with writing and being read, that's what this is all about for me. I have two priorities when it comes to blogging, the first is to write and be read, the second is to make money doing it, and my goal, is to make enough money doing it to quit my day job.

I want to be among the few able to do that, and I want to help you be make that list of people earning money from blogs grow.

So....without any further fanfare, my baby needs a new pair of shoes...the numbers please.....drumroooooooolllllll and the amount of money I made from blogging in 2007 is $1427.82 Yee-Ha!

That's quite a few pairs of shoes for my baby!

So...there you have it. I also made a little bit in a partnership arrangement with a couple of fellows related to affiliates, but I didn't add that in, I don't think it exceeded $100 for the year, but assuming it was at least $100, that puts me at $1527.82 for the year.

So, how did I make it you ask? Well, most of what I have been doing to make money is in this blog, in fact I believe all of my techniques and affilates are here, but to sum it up, in no particular order, my blog income came from Adsense Contextual Ads, Adengage Ads, Amazon Associate A-Stores and the FriendFinder program. There is not much spread between them, but Adengage topped the list, then Adsense, then FriendFinder, followed by Amazon.

In fairness, the Amazon sales didn't really kick in until lately when I started paying a little more attention to product promotion.

I have also signed on to ClickBank, but only lately and so far haven't seen any returns.

When I look back over the earnings from the last 12 months, I can see a definite increase in the last 6 months, when as I mentioned in an earlier post, I really started to focus on trying to make money blogging.

I also know that the increase in earnings is directly related to an increase in traffic, particularly to some of my blogs which really started to gain some ground this year. I also know that I probably lost a little money by letting a few of my older blogs slide a bit while I got some of my newer projects off the ground.

So...I am not quite ready to quit my day job and lead the life of the idle rich, but I am seeing a little return, and the best part is, I am loving it. I wish blogging had of been invented 30 years ago when I was younger.

So that's how I did, how about you?
