I think I may have written about this before, but it's worth mention every now and then because....well...it's worth mention.
I have told you before about my experiences with various affiliate programs and I continue to do so, especially after I have had the affilate on my sites for a while, and had time to find out if they are worth the space on my blogs.
That is one thing to keep in mind whenever you are considering signing up to an affiliate program or an add program, is the money you make worth the space that the adds will use up on your blog. Although the payment method is a little different than a magazine or other media outlet, blogging is very similar. Your add space is worth money to you, in much the same way that add space is valuable to magazine publishers for example. Therefore, you should try to come up with a figure that describes what each of the spaces you set aside for advertisements is worth.
In the beginning, that may not be very much, in fact it might be so small it is difficult to come up with a figure, but remember, it is worth something, even if it is only pennies. I monitor my affilates and other advertisers and either adjust the placement or the style of the ad, or remove any that are not paying, compared to those that are.
One program that has been paying for me, even though I haven't given it a lot of air time on my blogs is the Adult FriendFinder suite of programs. Now, I know what you are thinking....Adult FriendFinder, that is some kind of swinger/sex site isn't it? The short answer is yes, but AFF has a host of programs that you can promote and not all are sex or swinger related. They have several other programs that are not sex related, such as Senior Friendfinder and Big Church as well as many others including, Slim.Com to help folks lose weight, GradFinder and many, many more.
These programs have been pretty good to me, lots of banners, links and other promotional tools to choose from and fresh ones added regularly.
The FriendFinder Network Inc pays their affiliates by cheque the first of each month and the minimum payout is $50, which doesn't seem to take that long to add up. So far I haven't made a fortune, but it has been comparable with the other affilate programs that I run on my sites.
Now I am not encouraging you to start promoting adult, sex or swinger sites, that is entirely up to you. What I am saying is that in the blogging for bucks business you have to be diversified. But your blog or website is yours, you control the content and the advertisements and everything else about it. If these types of sites are not your cup of tea, then don't bother promoting them. If you don't want to promote the adult meeting sites, you can still promote some of the others, like
Slim.Com and GradFinder.
There you go, good luck!

Welcome to my blog. Like so many other blogs and websites this is about making money with blogs and websites....in particular this is about my experiences making money on the internet. At the time of this writing, I am the author of something in the area of 40 blogs, which keeps me pretty busy. Along the way I have learned quite a bit about what works and what doesn't. I hope my experiences help you.
