As a blogger, and in particular as a blogger intent on earning money from blogging I think about creative things a good deal of the time. I am specifically thinking about earning enough money to quit my day job and start living a full time creative lifestyle. The problem is, that is much easier said than done, and I have to keep telling myself to "keep and eye on the prize" otherwise I am liable to forgo my blogging efforts and go off on a new creative challenge, like painting or writing novels instead of blogs.
Brian Lee posted an article over on Geniustypes that really resonated with me, and in fact, is so bang on I read it twice. The article is entitled, Three Steps To Success For Creative Geniuses and I gotta tell ya, Brian has it figured out. Or at least he has me figured out.....
In his article Brian talks about Maximizing Focus, Minimizing Resistance and Maximizing Persistance, which are all good ideas in their own right, but what really set this blog on fire for me was his description of creative types like me, and I assume you, or you wouldn't likely be reading this...
Brian is describing me when he talks about creative genius's. Now that is a pretty big stretch, and not a very modest thing for me to say about myself, so perhaps I should rephrase it a little. What I mean to say is that when I read Brian's description of creative genius's...his words hit home and reminded me of the things I do that get in the way of the things I want to do, as well as giving a pretty decent idea of the way I think most of the time.
Of course on the other hand, it might just be my imagination, or I have just transposed my ideas into his words, and am left thinking he is talking about me. But...there are a few things he mentions that reflect the life I live so closely, I cannot help but think...I just might be a creative genius, or a creative jerk, not sure....
Because I am creative, and have been all my life, it is something I more or less take for granted, and typically I am not afraid to try new creative endeavors as an idea pops into my head. That's great except as Brian points out, that is why creative types can have trouble being successful, because unless we are in that creative zone, and stuff starts happening as we hope it will, we, or should I say "I" tend to lose interest, or as Brian Lee calls it, "focus" and the next thing ya know I am sitting in studio somewhere cranking out fancy flower pots or some such thing. If I can learn to master focus, that won't happen and I will continue the path I have set to achieve success in creative endeavors.
I am not going to say much more about Brian's post because I don't think I could do it justice. However, I do want you to read his post you're probably going to learn something about yourself that you already knew, but didn't understand or maybe even think about.
Well that's enough of that, I am off to bed....another day happens tomorrow I hope, and if it does, I want to be well rested...it helps us creative genius's come up with the creative ideas we try to hang our hats on....
Make Money Blogging
Welcome to my blog. Like so many other blogs and websites this is about making money with blogs and websites....in particular this is about my experiences making money on the internet. At the time of this writing, I am the author of something in the area of 40 blogs, which keeps me pretty busy. Along the way I have learned quite a bit about what works and what doesn't. I hope my experiences help you.

1 I welcome your comments:
Wow, that was such an insightful article, and alot of it petains to me and some of the habits I fall back on when things get hard. I also get distracted and find myself jumping from one great idea to another great idea, which makes me a "jack of all trades and master of none"
Thanks for the link
