I think I might need help...I am becoming a 'hit junkie' I can't not look at my stats. Almost anytime I get near a computer I have this complusion to go into my statistics counter and see how many hits I have received. To the point of distraction....and that is what it is.
Sure it's important to keep an eye on your statistics, in fact it's very important. But not all the time everyday. All you need to do is check once a day, and of course keep an eye on things when you post something new or change something to see what if any impact it had.
Otherwise, checking hits can be addictive and time consuming. Time that would be better spent researching or writing new posts to increase those very same hits. Blogging takes focus. Let's face it, you are working on the internet, you have the whole world in front of you and it's easy to get distracted and end up surfing the net, or staring at stats, clicking on the links that sent the visitor to you etc. It can be enthralling or at least attention grabbing, something you need to control if you want to manage your time effectively.
The other distraction for me, and the one that I find annoys me the most, is checking ad revenues, almost constantly, as if, 1) I was making a ton of money, or 2) I am expecting a big increase in revenue any second. Call me crazy (you won't be the first)but I actually find I do better on the days when for one reason or another I am unable to check my Adsense.
Anyway...I gotta go...gotta check my stats...it's been about an hour...
Make Money Blogging
Welcome to my blog. Like so many other blogs and websites this is about making money with blogs and websites....in particular this is about my experiences making money on the internet. At the time of this writing, I am the author of something in the area of 40 blogs, which keeps me pretty busy. Along the way I have learned quite a bit about what works and what doesn't. I hope my experiences help you.
