Alternative Advertisements - Bidvertiser

As I mentioned in my last post, there are many blog monetization opportunities and companies that you can sign up with to earn money from your blog. I have also had some success, albeit limited at this point, with BidVertiser.

Like most of these types of blog monetization companies, you sign up for an account, design the type of advertisment units you want to run on your blog, copy the code and paste it into your template. Like most, with BidVertiser you can customize the colors to compliment or contrast your blog colors and template. One thing I like about this company is that you can quite easily control what companies advertise on your site, and you can see which ones are paying the most per click.

As I mentioned earlier, I have had limited success with Bidvertiser to date. That could be because I didn't give them a fair try in the first place. I was running their ads early in my blogging days when my traffic was quite a bit less than it is now. I was a blogging newbie and didn't know much about optimization and placement etc either.

Now I am currently running Adsense and AdEngage on my blogs, and a link here or there to BidVertiser for old times sake. (like that one LOL) They were my first attempt at blog monetization and I feel a little sentimental attachment to them if nothing else.

Much like ad placement strategies, deciding what advertising company to hook up with is a bit of a crapshoot in some respects, it is also something worthy of experimentation. Just because I didn't have much luck with one ad unit doesn't mean you won't. It's also good to try new things.....
